Before and After School Program
Eagles
The before and after school program is called the Eagle Class! This program serves children from kindergarten through second grade. We provide transportation to Minden Elementary School (MES) and Gardnerville Elementary School (GES) in the morning and afternoon. We also offer care for your school aged children on school breaks (i.e. Spring Break, teacher workdays, and early outs).
Enrollment during the school year is flexible. Please call for availability.
Summer Camp
Summer Camp is available to these children when school is out. During this program, we offer field trips twice a week and water day every Friday. Field trip fee applies to all children who attend those days.

Not all classes have a naptime in their schedule. Bumblebees, Butterflies, and TK classes do not nap.
Toddlers nap from 12:00pm-2:30pm
Preschoolers nap from 12”30pm-2:00pm
The school will provide each child with a cot and sheet that will be laundered once a week or as needed. The children help teachers make their beds (if age appropriate). Soft soothing music will play as teachers rub backs to help children rest. This is an important part of the day as well. Important brain development goes on during this quiet rest time. LABEL – LABEL – LABEL all items please!

Children love to explore and express their curiosity with the world around them. When they become uncooperative, even defiant they need adults who are gentle yet firm to enforce reasonable limits but also understand the difficulty that they may have. They have a lack of understanding and a lack of self-control but often have good intentions, but bad implementation. It is important for us to show encouragement and appreciation of the good intention. Discipline with all children is a matter of planning, setting clear limits and expectations, redirection and logical consequences done in a loving and caring manner.
Trinity’s positive discipline policy is as follows…
· Positive redirection and other positive guidance strategies will be used
· Discussion with child and an incident report sent home with the parent
· Shadowing the teacher at recess to allow the child to reset
· Celebration of a change to an acceptable behavior
· Parent conference and individual behavior plan if needed
If all of the above has not resolved the issue, your child will be sent home for the day to reset and try again the next day.

All children have multiple recesses a day depending on the weather. We do not take the children outside if the temperature is less than 35 degrees, raining, or has visible lightning.
Our Toddler Playground is separated from the preschool playground, with age-appropriate outdoor play toys including a sandbox, slides and other various items. There is designated areas with artificial grass, sand, and rubber mulch.
The preschool/pre-k playground has two large in ground play structures, swings, monkey bars, balance beam, and large digging area with designated rubber mulch and sand areas.
All children have access to a secondary gross motor play area with bikes and care to drive.
Safety and security are very important to us, which is why all of our playgrounds are blocked by a 5 foot tall wall and are not visible from the street.

YES! We have an open door policy for all families. We encourage parents to attend Chapel on Wednesdays, class parties, field trips and more! Even if you just want to pop in to have lunch with your child, you are more than welcome.
Disclaimer: When children are new to the school, we typically ask that parents wait 2-3 weeks before coming to visit. It is best to establish a consistent routine for the children first. Then parents are welcome to join in the fun. This especially goes for younger children who are having difficulties at drop off.
Please ask your child’s teacher or the director about your child’s progress to decide when they are ready.
-
No. You will see a large TV in the Big Room that is used for music/movement, naptime sounds, and holiday program practice.
On party days the children may be allowed to watch a themed movie but never in its entirety.

Toddlers should wear clothes that are easy for teachers to remove to change diapers. Please do not send your toddlers in onesies that snap closed. Their shoes should fit properly, and they should not wear belts.
Preschoolers and pre-k should wear clothes that they can put on and take off independently. This is crucial for children potty training. Please do not send your children in clothes such as overalls if they and jumpers if they cannot remove them to use the bathroom.
All children must have shoes with backs on them. No slippers are allowed.
No clothes with inappropriate language, images, or logos. Nothing political is allowed.
